Rehabilitation

After an operation, although to a lesser extent after radiotherapy, it is advisable to make use of a targeted and intensive rehabilitation phase in order to recover properly from the operation. This can be done autonomously, as an in- or outpatient. In addition to measures designed to increase general strength, foster secure and safe movement, and improve general wellbeing directly after the operation, specific measures may be expedient and/or necessary, such as balance training or logopaedic exercises. This depends on the course taken by the operation and which adverse effects possibly arose and need to be minimised or eliminated. Initially therefore, a consultation with the operating surgeon is recommended rather than with your house doctor.

As well as any possible recommendations from the surgeon, the Internet also offers opportunities to find suitable rehabilitation clinics.
